The Allison Family History is the story of the ancestors of Guy Carlton Allison (1882-1957) and includes the Allison, Center, Parker, Patterson, Swann, and Redwine families. These families were primarily Scots-Irish and German who came to America before the Revolutionary War. They eventually settled in North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama.
This book contains not only the basic facts included on this website, but also my impressions of these ancestors gathered from letters, newspapers, and books. The letters from the Allison, Parker, and Swann families, dating from 1830 to 1865, provided a greater understanding of these people and their every day lives. These letters give wonderful insight into their thoughts, hopes, joys, and sorrows.
