(There is a tombstone in the Bush River Baptist Church cemetery for a Mary Leavell, born 27 Jul 1788, died 1827. Have only seen a picture of the stone and it is blurry so not sure if the dates of the transcription are correct.)2,3

MiscOct 1826She sued to partition the estate of her first husband William C. Griffin Sr in Oct 1826. The suit ( Mary Griffin vs Larkin Griffin & others) was heard in Oct term 1826. The court's decision was that partitioning would cause monetary injury to parties (Mary's children) so the land was sold at public sale in Jan 1827. Mary's father (John Summers) bought the 314 acres for $1895.2
